Update: Deceased Child Identified in Fatal Shelton Route 8 Crash

A three-vehicle accident on Route 8 in Shelton Tuesday claimed the life of an Ansonia 6-year-old.

The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. Nyah Marcano was killed in the crash.

An Acura was driving in the far left lane on Route 8 north just north of exit 12. A Ford F150 was behind it and a Chevy Tahoe was behind the F150, police said.

The Acura and F150 slowed for traffic and the Tahoe collided with the F150. Nyah was ejected from the Tahoe and died from injuries. A vehicle ended up in an embankment due to the crash.

All other occupants of the Tahoe were transported to Bridgeport Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The F150 operator was transported to Griffin Hospital.

A total of eight people were transported to hospitals.
