DERBY, CT — Two members of the Derby Police Department were promoted to the positions of deputy chief and sergeant earlier this month.

In a Facebook post, police said Brian Grogan was sworn in and promoted to the rank of deputy chief on Feb. 1.

Grogan has served the Derby Police Department since 2006. In his new position, he will assist in command responsibilities under Chief Scott Todd, according to police.

On Feb. 15, Frank DeAngelo was sworn in and promoted to the rank of sergeant. He has served the Derby Police Department since 2013 and will assume the role of patrol supervisor.

"Congratulations to the officers and good luck in their new assignments," police said on Facebook.
