Pregnant Woman Killed In Double-Fatal Shelton Crash
One of the victims was pregnant, police said.

SHELTON, CT — Police have identified the victims who were killed in a Shelton crash Sunday night. The crash left two dead, one critically injured and four others with non-life threatening injuries.
Shalymar Herrera, 18, of West Haven and 23-year-old Briana Torres-Carter of Bridgeport were killed. Torres-Carter was pregnant. Both were passengers in a Mini Cooper that was operated by Lawrence Carter, 19, of Bridgeport who was critically injured. A 19-year-old sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash, police said.
Three others in a Saturn sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The Mini Cooper was traveling southbound on River Road when it crashed into a northbound Saturn, said Lt. Robert Kozlowsky, police spokesman. A third vehicle was involved in the crash, but didn't come into contact with the other vehicles.
The crash closed River Road for several hours Sunday evening as police investigated. The investigation remains open.
