Viewfinder: The Beauties of Zoar

Avid Shelton hikers who look to find solace in the suburbs of Fairfield County may find the Zoar Trail to be an delightful surprise. This 6.5 mile loop offers beautiful views of Lake Zoar along with distant bird calls and the near depths of Paugussett State Forest. The trail is located off of Route 34 in Newton and is open until dusk. But, be careful! This time of year does attract more than a handful of mosquitoes along the way.
