When Does 'Pick-Your-Own Strawberries' Season Start at Jones Farms?

Wondering when PYO strawberry season starts at Jones Family Farm? Here's the latest on the Shelton strawberry situation.

If you're psyched about picking strawberries this year, you don't have to wait too much longer!

Pick-your-own strawberry season begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, at Jones Family Farms in Shelton.

If that seems late in the season, that's because it is, according to the folks at Jones. They say it's all because of Old Man Winter. The strawberries were covered in snow well into March and resulted in a slow start.

Planning on picking? Call the farm's crop report line at 203-929-8425 before you visit so you know the location for picking before you arrive. There are no berry fields at the winery's 606 Walnut Tree Hill Rd. address.
