Winning CT Lottery Ticket Sold In Shelton

A local resident is the lucky winner, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

SHELTON, CT — A Shelton resident is $10,000 richer this week after claiming a winning lottery ticket that was purchased locally, the Connecticut Lottery announced.

On Monday, Corey Walsh claimed a winning MEGA MILLIONS ticket that was purchased from the Citgo gas station on River Road in Shelton.

To win $10,000, Walsh matched four of five numbers, and matched the Mega Ball number. The odds of winning this combination are 1 in 931,001.

The game costs $2 per ticket, and first prize jackpots begin at $20 million. To win the first prize jackpot, a player must match the five winning numbers and the Mega Ball number.

Some winnings can also be multiplied by adding increments of $1 per wager.
