Woman Accused Of Striking Shelton Walmart Employee, Stealing Phone: PD
The woman is accused of striking a Walmart employee with a curtain rod and stealing an employee's phone, according to Shelton police.

SHELTON, CT — A woman accused of striking a Walmart employee with a curtain rod and stealing a phone was arrested Wednesday, according to Shelton police.
In a news release, police said they were called to the Bridgeport Avenue store after receiving a report of a fight.
Arriving officers determined Keyarra Burnett-Johnson, 21, of Bridgeport, and two juveniles tried to leave the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise without paying.

When the store's loss prevention staff questioned Burnett-Johnson about the unpaid items, she began to yell and spit at them, police said.
She also struck an employee with a curtain rod she was attempting to steal, according to police. The employee sustained minor injuries.

An employee also dropped his phone during the altercation, which Burnett- Johnson stole, police said.
Burnett-Johnson and the two juveniles fled the store in a Jeep Cherokee, however witnesses took note of the vehicle and its registration plate, police said. Officers located the car on Bridgeport Avenue and tried to stop it, but it fled onto Route 8 at a high rate of speed.
The Walmart employee was able use GPS tracking on his stolen phone, which showed it was at a Bridgeport residence. When officers arrived at the address, they found the Jeep along with Burnett-Johnson and the two juveniles, police said.
Burnett-Johnson was charged with third-degree robbery, two counts of risk of injury to a child, engaging police in pursuit and operating a motor vehicle without a license. She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court this week, according to police.
