Woman Accused Of Threatening, Pointing Gun At Neighbors In Shelton: Police

Police said a resident of a multifamily home in Shelton is accused of pointing a gun at her neighbors and making verbal threats.

SHELTON, CT — A resident of a multifamily home in Shelton accused of pointing a gun at her neighbors and making verbal threats was arrested Sunday night, according to the Shelton Police Department.

In a news release, police said a breach of peace involving threats with a firearm was reported around 8:30 p.m. at the Howe Avenue home.

When officers arrived, they learned a resident was accused of pointing a gun at neighboring residents and making verbal threats, according to police.

During a protective sweep of the woman's apartment, officers found a Masterpiece Arms firearm, a large-capacity magazine and a small quantity of a white rock-like substance in plain view, police said.

A firearm records check revealed no registration associated with the weapon, and the rock-like substance later field-tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl, according to police.

Eunice Berrios, 60, of Shelton, was found inside the apartment and showed signs of intoxication, police said.

Police also noted Berrios made additional threatening statements toward neighboring residents during her arrest.

Berrios was charged with second-degree breach of peace, first-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal possession of an assault weapon, illegal possession of a large capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit, use of a machine gun (aggressive purpose), carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled substance and illegal carrying of a firearm while under the influence.

She was held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court, according to police.
