Woman Killed In Derby Crash Identified By Police: Report
Police said the woman was killed after the minivan she was driving was hit by a Jeep on Route 34 in Derby, according to media reports.
DERBY, CT — A woman who was killed in a 2-vehicle crash Friday night in Derby has been identified as a Waterford woman, according to media reports.
Police said Robin Slane, 55, of Waterford, was killed when the Dodge Grand Caravan she was driving was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling in the opposite direction on Route 34, according to the New Haven Register.
The crash occurred after the Jeep crossed the double yellow lines into the path of the minivan, the New Haven Register reports. Slane was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to WTNH News 8, the crash was reported in the area of Roosevelt Drive and Cullens Hill Road around 7:15 p.m. The driver of the Jeep and three passengers in the minivan all suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at a hospital.
Additionally, a Derby fireman who was helping remove the passengers from the minivan was bitten by a dog inside the car and suffered a minor face injury, WTNH News 8 reports.
