2 Dead In Simsbury Domestic Violence Shooting: Police
New details were released by the chief medical examiner's office concerning the shooting, according to a report.

SIMSBURY, CT — Two people are dead following a domestic violence shooting in Simsbury on Sunday night, according to police.
Police received the call at 5:22 p.m. and found an injured person, Linda Halligan, 57, inside the house at 6 Woodleigh Place in Weatogue. She was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where she later died, according to police. Police then found Bernard Halligan Jr., 59, dead in the garage.
An 18-year-old female left the home following the shooting and went to a neighbor's home, WTNH News-8 reported. There is no threat to the community and a suspect involved in the shooting has reportedly been located.

Simsbury police said on Monday afternoon that the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that the shooting was a murder-suicide. Linda Halligan's death was ruled a homicide, while Bernard Halligan Jr.'s death was ruled a suicide, police said. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
Deputy Police Chief Christopher Davis called it a "tragic, tragic situation," according to FOX 61.

Local police are working with the Hartford State Attorney's Office and the State Police Major Crimes Division on the investigation.
