Simsbury police have also filed charges against the suspect.

A Manchester man who has been held in custody since late July on home invasion, assault and larceny charges has had additional charges filed in two other towns.

Michael Hennigan, 28, was originally arrested by Newington police on July 30 on charges of home invasion, second-degree larceny, interfering with an emergency call, third-degree assault and third-degree assault on an elderly/other victim.

He has been held in lieu of $200,000 bond since his arrest.

Simsbury police charged Hennigan Aug. 20 with second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct, then on Sept. 8, he was charged by New Britain police with first-degree sexual assault and first-degree unlawful restraint, stemming from a July 19 incident involving his ex-girlfriend, the Hartford Courant reported.

In an affidavit supporting his arrest obtained by the Courant, Hennigan went to the woman’s apartment on July 17, where the two got into an argument. When she asked him to leave, he sexually assaulted her.

The ex-girlfriend did not report the assault at the time, but 10 days later Hennigan returned, entered her apartment and attacked a man inside the residence, the affidavit states.

Hennigan confessed to police that he had sexually assaulted the woman on July 17, according to the affidavit.

Judicial records indicate Hennigan is still in custody in lieu of bonds totaling $240,000. His next appearance in New Britain Superior Court is scheduled for Sept. 28.
