Alisa Picerno Appointed Chair of Two New Simsbury Chamber Committees
President of Alliances by Alisa Media Relations Will Lead Membership and Marketing Efforts

Shortly after her election to a three year term on the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Alisa Picerno, President of Alliances by Alisa Media Relations, has been appointed to chair two newly re-established committees for the organization. Picerno will oversee both the Membership and the Marketing Committees of the Chamber.
“While the town of Simsbury is always highly ranked as an ideal place to live, the Chamber wants to elevate its prominence as a vibrant center of business,” said Executive Director Lisa Gray. “With Alisa’s expertise, creativity and commitment to making things happen, the entire board unanimously agreed she is uniquely skilled to lead these initiatives.”
Gray notes the Marketing Committee’s top priority is to increase awareness of the Chamber’s signature events including the Simsbury Spooktacular Chili Challenge, Business Leaders’ Breakfast and Annual Awards ceremony. This will lead to increased attendance levels and participation of Chamber members.

The charge of the Membership Committee is to retain current members, enhance the value of membership, and attract new members. Last month, Picerno took the lead to form a team for the Membership Committee. They created measurable goals and forged a partnership plan with the Simsbury Young Professionals group. One ambitious target is to raise the membership level from the current 350 to 400 by December of 2018.
As the leading business association in the area, member benefits include member-to-member discounts, networking events, and marketing opportunities. Additionally, the Chamber promotes the community as a destination for visitors, corporate travelers and for families considering relocation.

“I am excited to promote the activities of this impressive and dynamic group of industry leaders,” said Picerno. “Simsbury is nationally recognized as a highly desirable place to live and play. My strategy is to highlight the economic strength of the entire Farmington Valley region to position it as an attractive and profitable place to build a business as well.”
The Simsbury Chamber Board meets the first Wednesday of every month at 8:00 A. M. at the Simsbury Chamber office, for approximately 1-1/2 hours. For more info visit http://simsburycoc.org/ or at http://alliancesbyalisa.com/
