SIMSBURY, CT — A prominent senior living community has named a new official in charge of memory care there, a medical professional who took a rather long journey to Simsbury.

Skybrooke at Simsbury has promoted Rita Kuczorski to serve as Avita Memory Care Program Director at the senior living community, located at 142 Cooper Ave. in the Weatogue section of Simsbury.

Skybrooke, operated by Northbridge Companies, offers independent living, assisted living, and Avita Memory Care services.

Kuczorski has worked at Skybrooke for four years, most recently as resident engagement director.

In that role, she developed programming for residents and built partnerships throughout Simsbury and the Farmington Valley.

“Building relationships, creating meaningful moments, and bringing joy and connection to residents’ daily lives has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career,” Kuczorski said in a statement.

Born and raised in Poland, Kuczorski pursued nursing school before emigrating to the United States, where she continued her education in nutrition and dietetics.

She began her career in senior living communities, later stepping away to raise her children before returning to the field.

Kuczorski said she is motivated by a commitment to dementia care as she takes on her new role within the Avita Memory Care neighborhood.

“I am passionate about dementia care and driven to create environments where every individual is seen, valued, and supported — where compassion guides care, dignity is preserved, and meaningful moments are made every day,” she said.
