Simsbury To Inspect Resident Properties As Part Of Revaluation Process

Simsbury assessors will inspect properties tied to recent building permits through Oct. 1.

SIMSBURY, CT — The Simsbury Assessor’s Office announced it will conduct site visits for properties with building permits issued since Oct. 1, 2025, as well as outstanding permits from prior years.

According to a notice issued on May 6, assessors and staff members will inspect completed work tied to permits before Oct. 1, 2026, as part of the town’s property valuation process.

Town officials said staff conducting inspections will carry identification and drive marked town vehicles.

During visits, assessors will request permission to inspect the property.

Depending on the work completed, inspections may include interior visits and exterior measurements of improvements.

If a homeowner is not present, staff may still measure the exterior of the property and leave a notice documenting the visit.

If an interior inspection is required, the notice will instruct the homeowner to contact the assessor’s office to schedule an appointment.

The assessor’s office said the inspections are intended to help ensure properties are fairly valued and to update town property records.

Homeowners who do not want the exterior of their property inspected while they are away may contact the assessor’s office to arrange a scheduled appointment.

For more information or to schedule an inspection, residents may contact the Simsbury Assessor’s Office at 860-658-3251.
