Organizers have set a fundraising goal of $92,000 for the Simsbury event. As of the latest update, participants and donors had raised more than $54,000 toward that goal.

The event will take place at Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center, 22 Iron Horse Blvd., and will feature accessible one-mile and three-mile walking routes.

Mobility devices are welcome on all routes.

Event activities begin at 9 a.m. when the site opens.

An opening ceremony is scheduled for 9:50 a.m., followed by the official walk kickoff at 10 a.m.

This year's Walk MS experience is centered on the theme "Circles of Support," highlighting the individuals and organizations that help improve the lives of people living with multiple sclerosis while advancing efforts to find a cure.

Participants are encouraged to identify their connection to the MS community through three support categories.

Orange represents those living with MS, green represents family members, friends, and supporters of someone living with MS, including those participating in remembrance of loved ones, and yellow represents individuals who support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's mission.

Organizers say every participant plays an important role in the MS community, whether they are directly affected by the disease or supporting someone who is.

Participants who raise $100 or more by event day will receive an exclusive Walk MS T-shirt available for pickup at the event.

Registration and donation information are available through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Walk MS website.
