• Massive Farmington Valley Juneteenth Celebration Returns This Weekend In Simsbury (patch.com) — Simsbury residents can head to Simsbury Meadows this Saturday evening for the Farmington Valley’s largest Juneteenth celebration, featuring live music, family activities, and fireworks. Organized by the Simsbury DEI Council with support from Avon, Farmington, and Granby, the free event highlights Black history, local performers, diverse food vendors, and educational programming about Juneteenth’s significance.    

• Simsbury HS Senior Earns Major National Scholarship (patch.com) — A Simsbury High School senior from West Simsbury has been named a National Merit college-sponsored scholarship winner, earning support to attend Rochester Institute of Technology and pursue computer programming. His award is part of a nationwide program that will ultimately provide nearly $24 million in scholarships to about 6,700 high school seniors.
