Simsbury Police Welcome Two New Female Officers

One was sworn in this week and will begin academy training, and another recently completed training at the police academy.

SIMSBURY, CT — The Simsbury Police Department has welcomed two new officers to its ranks, with one returning from the Connecticut Police Academy and another preparing to begin her academy training this month.

The department announced that Officer Emily Nado graduated from the Connecticut Police Academy on June 17 and has returned to Simsbury to begin several months of field training.

In a Facebook post on June 23, the department congratulated Nado on completing the academy and welcomed her back to the community.

The department also welcomed Officer Kaycee Newberry, who was officially sworn in during a ceremony on Wednesday, July 1.

Newberry is scheduled to begin training at the Connecticut Police Academy on July 10 as she starts her law enforcement career.

"Please join us in welcoming our newest officer, Kaycee Newberry, who was officially sworn in this morning as a member of the Simsbury Police Department," the department said in a Facebook post.

The department said it looks forward to welcoming Newberry back to Simsbury following her successful completion of the academy.
