SIMSBURY, CT — A 69-year-old Tariffville man died after a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Granby, police said.
Mark Floryan was seriously injured when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Granville Road, or Route 189, and Peck Orchard Road shortly after 5:42 p.m., according to Granby police.
Police said LifeStar transported Floryan to Hartford Hospital. He later died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Capt. Kurt Laflamme confirmed Floryan's identity and death by email Monday night. The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene, police said.
The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad processed the scene. Route 189 was closed during the investigation and has since reopened.
CT Insider first reported that the crash involved a motorcycle and another vehicle. WFSB reported that a nearby resident said LifeStar transported the motorcyclist; Granby police later confirmed the helicopter transport in its release.
