Simsbury Open Houses Oct. 10-11: 8 Homes Near Simsbury Farms, Heritage Glen And Talcott Mountain

Eight Simsbury homes hold open houses Oct. 10-11, priced from $154,900 to $649,000, including two Heritage Glen condos and a 55+ unit.

SIMSBURY, CT — Simsbury's open houses this weekend include a West Simsbury Colonial a short walk from Simsbury Farms, whose listing points to the Talcott Mountain Music Festival at nearby Simsbury Meadows.

There are also two Heritage Glen condos within reach of the town center, a family home owned for 48 years with an in-ground pool and a 55-and-older retirement condo with housekeeping included.

Eight Simsbury homes are holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, with prices from $154,900 to $649,000, according to Zillow.com.

Saturday, Oct. 10

21 Watson Drive, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., $649,000. This 1972 Colonial has quartz counters, a renovated primary bath, fresh paint, and a newer roof. The listing notes it's a short walk to Simsbury Farms, with golf, an aquatic center, and an ice rink, and close to Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center, home of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra's Talcott Mountain Music Festival. It's a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home with 2,939 square feet. Its price was cut by $20,000 on Oct. 2.

Sunday, Oct. 11

4 Carriage Drive #4, noon to 2 p.m., $279,900. This renovated end-unit ranch condo at Heritage Glen has a new kitchen, new flooring and updated electrical and plumbing, and the listing calls it one of the complex's largest units. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath condo with 1,422 square feet; the HOA fee is $617 a month. Its price was cut by $20,100 on Oct. 6.

38 Library Lane #38, noon to 2 p.m., $249,000. Also at Heritage Glen, this unit has in-unit laundry, living room built-ins, a one-car garage and a large deck overlooking a stream, and the listing says the town center is a walk away. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath condo with 1,100 square feet; the HOA fee is $657 a month.

40 Firetown Road #39, 1 to 3 p.m., $154,900. This third-floor end unit is in a 55-and-older retirement community, not assisted living, according to the listing. It has an updated kitchen, a walk-in shower, an in-unit washer and dryer and a wood deck. The $1,383 monthly fee covers most utilities plus weekly light housekeeping and linen changes. It's a two-bedroom, one-bath condo with 734 square feet.

39 Berkshire Way, 1 to 3 p.m., $520,000. Owned by the same family for 48 years, according to the listing, this 1977 home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac. It has a family room with a fireplace and sliders, and an in-ground pool and patio out back. It's a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home with 2,234 square feet on 0.57 acres. Its price was cut by $30,000 on Oct. 2.

15 Sanctuary Drive, 1 to 3 p.m., $575,000. On a wooded 1.1-acre cul-de-sac lot in the Squadron Line school district, this 1969 Colonial has three fireplaces, a primary suite with a sitting room and a jetted tub, and a partially finished walk-out lower level. A deck overlooks the woods. It's a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home with 2,715 square feet. Its price was cut by $50,000 on Oct. 1.

10 Knoll Lane #10, 1 to 3 p.m., $200,000. Listed Oct. 7, this one-level Weatogue condo has had the same owner for 22 years, according to the listing, with new appliances in September and a patio overlooking woods. It has an attached one-car garage. It's a one-bedroom, one-bath condo with 726 square feet; the HOA fee is $360 a month.

16 Oakhurst Road, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., $625,000. On nearly 2 acres, this 1958 Cape has about 3,689 square feet of finished space, according to the listing, including roughly 1,000 in a finished walk-out lower level. It's a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home with 3,689 square feet.

Make a weekend of it: Watson Drive has Saturday morning to itself. On Sunday, start at Heritage Glen at noon, then choose among five homes open from 1 p.m., ending at Oakhurst Road, open until 3:30.
