Gifts of Love is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer O’Dea to its Board of Directors. O'Dea, husband Gerald, and two children, Caitlin and Cecilia, have been residents of Simsbury for four years. Prior to moving to Simsbury to raise their children, O’Dea worked as a Clinical Social Worker in New York. She has volunteered at Gifts of Love for the past three years in various roles ranging from the Weekend Food Backpack Program, to helping at the front desk and with donations intake, to assisting clients in the food pantry. “We are delighted to have Jennifer O’Dea join our Board of Directors,” said Gifts of Love’s Executive Director, Diana Goode. “Her familiarity with the operations of Gifts of Love, community connections and background in social work are tremendous assets for our agency.”
The mission of Gifts of Love is to help meet the basic needs of individuals and families experiencing a temporary financial crisis so they can achieve or maintain self-sufficiency. The organization provides food and clothing, household items and furniture to individuals and families facing a financial crisis due to a variety of circumstances. Gifts of Love helps clients meet their families’ most basic needs – food on the table, a winter coat, or a bed to sleep in – and enable them to focus on putting their lives back in order and regaining their independence.
