The Simsbury Little League 60th Anniversary Championship Ceremony and Games was held on June 18, and was a very memorable event.
Simsbury Little League President Mike Sinacori led the Championship Ceremony. The Majors Division Athletics and Pirates and the AAA Division Orioles and Red Sox players and coaches were recognized.
In addition, a very special Simsbury Little League baseball player was honored — Sgt. Felix Del Greco. On April 9, 2004, Sgt. Del Greco was the first Connecticut National Guard soldier to be killed in Iraq. Alexa Del Greco, the sister of Sgt. Del Greco, attended the ceremony in her brother's honor.
