The Simsbury Youth Hockey Squirt A1 team won the state championship title in the Connecticut Hockey Conference Tier 4 Squirt Division March 20, at Newington Arena. A total of 21 Squirt teams from across the state competed over two weekends for the Tier 4 championship title.
Simsbury’s perseverance and tenacity was displayed in each game earning them a 7-1-2 record. The final weekend was highlighted by a victory in the semi-final game with Simsbury scoring with 12 seconds remaining in the second overtime and culminating in a 3-0 victory in the Tier 4 State Championship Finals.
