SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Clemson University, Clemson SC

• Two students from Simsbury were named to the fall 2019 President's List at Clemson University. They are Elise Katrine Hildebrandt, whose major is Biological Sciences, and Griffin Edward Myslow, whose major is Computer Engineering. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.
• Three Simsbury students were named to the Dean's List at Clemson University for the fall 2019 semester. They are Annie Mckay Deliso, whose major is Health Science; Erin J. Donohue, whose major is Pre-Business; and Julie M. Longfritz, whose major is Economics. To be named to the Dean's List, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Nichols College, Dudley MA

• A once-in-a-lifetime experience. Unreal. Awe-inspiring. That's how students at Nichols College described their chance to participate on a large team of volunteers that will be hosting events for Super Bowl LIV in Miami on Sunday, Feb. 2. Eliza Phillips of Simsbury is one of volunteers representing Nichols ars part of a new course, The Super Bowl Operations Experience Practicum, which focuses on giving students a unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience critical to their majors and potential careers. They will be working with the Super Bowl Host Committee on events surrounding the football championship, including the Super Bowl itself. A total of 16 students attending from Nichols will be accompanied by Priscila Alfaro-Barrantes, assistant professor of sport management, and Luanne Westerling, associate dean for business.

University of Delaware, Newark DE

• Simsbury residents Emily Alonzo, Erin Jennings, Ethan Nigro and Teagan Hedman have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the fall 2019 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of New Hampshire, Durham NH

• Three students from Simsbury have been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the fall 2019 semester. Alexa Bobinski earned High Honors, majoring in Psychology; Brooke Witkin earned Honors, majoring in Psychology; and Jenna Gregoire earned Honors, majoring in Cmn:Business Applications. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.

Vanderbilt University, Nashville TN

• Isabelle Dorman, a sophomore from Simsbury, was named to the Dean's List at Vanderbilt University for the fall 2019 semester. Dean's list students must achieve a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average. Dorman is majoring in Human and Organizational Development. She is also a 'Dore for a Day host and Student Alumni Board representative for the Class of 2022.
