SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Clarkson University, Potsdam NY

• Juliet Elisabeth Clarkson of West Simsbury received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Clarkson University in May.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

• Four students from Simsbury have been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring 2018 semester at St. Lawrence University. Katherine B. Angus is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in English. Hannah R. Gailey is a member of the Class of 2021. Katharine G. Hovey is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in Hispanic studies and business in the liberal arts. Morgan E. Ryan is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in statistics. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

• Jennifer Kornacki, from Simsbury, a member of the Class of 2020, has been named to the spring 2018 Dean's List at Stonehill College. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• At the University of Rhode Island's 132nd Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20, 2018, about 3,300 undergraduate and 750 graduate students became the University's newest alumni. Four graduates from Simsbury were Maya Alibrio, Bachelor of Arts, Anthropology; Ellena Gressier, Bachelor of Science, Health Studies Magna Cum Laude; Audrey E. Smarrelli, Bachelor of Science, Nursing (RN to BS); and Brenna Sullivan, Bachelor of Arts, Art Magna Cum Laude.
