Bake Sale for Wounded Warrior Project to be Held on Memorial Day
This is an event that Haley Latorre and other Simsbury students have organized for the last few years.
The 5th Annual Memorial Day Bake Sale for the Wounded Warrior Project will be held on Memorial Day.
The event, which raised $3,000 last year, will be held in the Martocchio Music parking lot at 12:30 p.m. and all proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Latorre’s father flew A-10 Warthogs for the Connecticut Air National Guard and was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is currently in the military with the Michigan Air National Guard.

Latorre, a freshman at Simsbury High School, heard of the Wounded Warriors Project through her father and military friends. She wanted to do something for the veterans, so she decided to organize a bake sale.
She and her mom contacted Martocchio Music, where she plays guitar, and they agreed to let her use their parking lot.
