Candidate Eric Wellman for State Representative misrepresented his Democratic Rally as a canvassing kickoff for the Wellman’s campaign, “Day of Action.”

When questioned, this was the response from Tom Tyburski, Director of Culture, Parks and Recreation, “the Town and SPAC were not aware of the gathering at Simsbury Meadows this past Saturday. After speaking with Mr. Wellman, my understanding of the event is that Simsbury Meadows was used more as a meeting location before going out to canvass than a rally, and I have explained the Town’s Public Gathering Permit Process and the SPAC’s license with the Town of Simsbury for any future events planned for that location.”
Eric Wellman has approved numerous Gathering Permits during his tenure on the Board of Selectmen and as First Selectmen.
This was not an oversight but a BIG LIE.
A picture from the video footage of the 10:45 AM start at the Wellman Rally on July 16, 2022 at the Simsbury Meadows at 11:09 shows tables on the lawn with campaign signs and what appears to be some literature for the Rally.
Do these tables belong to the SPAC?
Who set them up for the rally?
After being outed on his false accusations, the next rally was at Wellman’s home at 21 Madison Lane.
During First Selectmen Mary Glassman’s administration Joe Patrina requested to have a Republican rally at the Simsbury Meadows.
The request was denied on the grounds that politics should not be promoted on town property.
Candidate Eric Wellman cannot be trusted to become Simsbury’s State Representative.
Candidate Eric Wellman is running against Melissa Osborne for Simsbury’s State Representative vacated by John Hampton.
The Primary vote is Tuesday, August 9, 2022
