Police said they believe the suspects did not yet "tamper with any of the businesses" in that area.
• Three days later, on Dec. 3, at about 2 a.m., police were called for a burglar alarm at the Mobil Gas Station at 404 Hopmeadow St.
After police were on the scene, officers noticed the front door was smashed, the ATM stolen and cigarettes were taken as well, police said.
• Police reviewed surveillance images and determined the same suspects appeared nearby at Mitchell Volkswagen at 416 Hopmeadow St. that same morning.
Police said a glass door was smashed at the auto dealership and it appeared the suspects entered the showroom and went through the drawers.
Despite the intrusion, police said it appeared no items were taken, speculating that the suspects were looking for car keys or other items.
The SPD said this recent spree of business-targeted crime is in line with what's been reported at other municipal police departments.
As a result, police said they're available and willing to work with both home and business owners on improving security measures for their property.
"As always, the Simsbury Police Department is available to any resident or business who would like an officer to come by and perform a security survey with them," wrote police.
