Conversation and Camaraderie (C&amp;C) is a men's group that has been meeting successfully in Avon for the past two years. Meetings are informal discussions, led by facilitators whose goal is to maintain a safe, welcoming, non-confrontational, and engaging environment for all, where everyone's voice can be heard. This is not a therapy session or a twelve step group. What it IS, though, is an opportunity for older men from varied backgrounds and life experiences to connect and communicate with others.
Topics, chosen in advance, are intended to open discussions for the group to share life lessons, memories, and laughter. Sample topics, some thoughtful, some silly and some just fun include:

Several years ago, Master Bespoke Tailor Eric W. Stiles Sr. taught professional online fashion classes through 61 colleges across the United States and 2 colleges in Canada. The college serving your community was one of those institutions, giving local residents the opportunity to study professional sewing, tailoring, garment construction, pattern making, alterations, and other specialized fashion skills.
As the nationwide program continued to grow, Mr. Stiles stepped away from online teaching to redesign the program and make it more affordable and accessible. Those classes are now returning through EWS Fashion Academy, with Online Mini-Courses beginning September 12, 2026. Unlike the previous college-sponsored program, students now register directly through the Academy, and most Mini-Course sessions are just $17.00.
With more than four decades of experience, advanced training with Brioni in Italy, professional work with Brioni, Giorgio Armani, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Tom Ford, and teaching both online and live at 11 Illinois colleges, Mr. Stiles continues to bring professional fashion education to students everywhere.

Join Maker-in-Residence, Ava Rodrigues, to learn the Cricut Design Space software in the Technology Learning Center and you'll learn how to make your own T-Shirts.&nbsp;
Ava will teach you some basic and intermediate Cricut functions with an in-depth look at the Cricut Design Space software and you will learn to design and make your own mugs and coasters. Ava will be demonstrating how to create and use different techniques. There will not be time to make your own projects in class, but you will have the skills to create them in the makerspace at a later time!&nbsp;
Space is limited for this class, but look for more classes throughout the year.

The Indigo Girls:Across four decades, 16 studio albums, and over 15 million records sold, the Grammy-winning duo of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray continue to blaze the trail for generations of Queer artists in the mainstream.
The pair began their career in clubs around their native Atlanta before signing to Epic Records in 1988. Their eponymous major label debut sold over two million copies, powered by singles "Closer to Fine" and "Kid Fears." It was the first of six consecutive Gold and Platinum-certified albums.
"We joke about being old, but what is old when it comes to music? We're still a bar band at heart," says Saliers. "Our passion for music feels the same as it did when we were 25."
Beyond music, Saliers and Ray are committed activists working on racial justice, reproductive rights, immigration reform, LGBTQ advocacy, and Native American rights.
Recently, "Closer to Fine" featured prominently in Greta Gerwig's blockbuster Barbie, introducing Indigo Girls to a new generation. Their 2024 documentary It's Only Life After All blends 40 years of footage into a heartfelt career retrospective.Trina Meade &amp; Co.:
Today Trina Meade is one of Atlanta’s most loved and respected live musical performers the city has to offer! Her passion for music began early watching her father sing in the living room floor and from the pulpit of their church! “My spot was up in daddy’s arms after church watching and listening to many of the church members thank him for his song selections. In school all of my electives were musical in some way.”&nbsp;
Trina moved from Indiana to Atlanta in the mid 80s where she joined one of most prominent bands on the local R&amp;B circuit, later moving into the alternative rock music scene with her band Stereo Popsicle who’s name later changed to Three5Human recording 5 records together. Trina has toured and recorded with artists such as TLC, Pebbles, Babyface, Indigo Girls, Michael Franti, OutKast, Stevie Wonder, Corey Clover, Fishbone, Michelle Malone, and Blind Boys of Alabama through Kevn Kenny to name a few!&nbsp;
Trina is currently writing and recording her first solo album entitled “Ashes”, set to release in the third quarter of 2026! “I’m crazy excited and can’t wait to offer what I have to give to the world!”
