Great music, local restaurants... and lots of politicians!
Candidates for local political office (whether they're Democrats, Republicans, or running independently) are campaigning to volunteer for their community. And while they work hard to raise money to send mailings to publicize their ideas and objectives, word of mouth is the primary campaign method.
So please, do them a favor: Stop by the Democratic Town Committee booth at Septemberfest (and in fairness, you may want to stop by and visit our friendly opposition as well. We rather like some of them personally!).
Shout out to Jan Beatty, who is running for Library Board of Trustees, and Susan Ersinghaus, who is running for Board of Assessment Appeals. These women did a fabulous job setting up and staffing the booth Friday night. How is it that only the men ended up in this picture??
