Campus Notes - Simsbury College Students

SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

• Katherine B. Angus of Weatogue is participating in a St. Lawrence University off-campus study abroad program during the fall 2018 semester. Angus is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in English. She attended Simsbury High School. Angus is participating in St. Lawrence University's fall off-campus program in Italy. Nearly three-quarters of St. Lawrence University undergraduates study abroad, with nearly two-thirds of students studying abroad for a semester or longer.

Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove PA

• Talia Basch, of Simsbury, is working as a student tour guide this year at Susquehanna University. To become a tour guide, students must complete a written application and personal interview with the admissions staff. Once selected, students complete an intensive training program, followed by additional training sessions throughout their time on the job. Training includes shadowing veteran tour guides, becoming familiar with the admissions process and frequently asked questions, learning to present important information during the tour and preparing to deal with challenging situations that may arise while giving a tour. Basch is a communications major in the Class of 2020. A 2015 graduate of The Ethel Walker School High School, she is the daughter of Alan and Clarissa Basch.
