SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.
Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT
- Displays of research and creativity dominated the Eastern Connecticut State University campus on April 12 for the annual CREATE conference. CREATE stands for "Celebrating Research Excellence and Artistic Talent at Eastern," and is the university's premier undergraduate conference. Among the conference participants were three students from Simsbury. Mackenzie Brower, who majors in Secondary Education, presented "How has Humanity Combated Disease in the Past, and Will it Change in the Future?" Emily Graham, who majors in Communication, presented "Work System Method Analysis of Kaitaia Publishing Collective." Danielle Romanelli, who majors in Psychology, presented "Parental Impacts On Adolescent Sexual Behaviors." The day-long showcase featured more than 250 students from all majors who led oral and poster presentations, panel discussions, music and dance performances, art and photography exhibitions, new-media demonstrations and more.

- Morgan E. Ryan of West Simsbury was inducted into the St. Lawrence University chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society. Ryan is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in statistics. Ryan attended Simsbury High School.
