Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove PA
- Talia Basch of Simsbury is among the 265 students recently honored as University Scholars at Susquehanna University. The annual Scholars Program was held on Oct. 26 in Susquehanna's Stretansky Concert Hall to recognize and congratulate Susquehanna's most successful student scholars. To be named a University Scholar, students must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 in full-time study for the past two semesters or equivalent credit hours of part-time study. Basch is a communications major in the Class of 2020. A 2015 graduate of the Ethel Walker School, she is the daughter of Alan and Clarissa Basch.

- Wesleyan University student-athlete Sean Penney of Simsbury was named to the 2018 NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference on Nov. 28. In order to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a minimum GPA of 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale.
