  • Hofstra University congratulates the students named to the spring 2019 Dean's List for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean's List. Local honorees are Carolyn Oseep of West Simsbury and Sarah Poirot of Simsbury.

  • William Bunn of Simsbury graduated with a BS in Integrated Marketing Communications, and MacKenzie DuBois of Simsbury graduated with a BS in Exercise Science from Ithaca College in May 2019.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

  • Simsbury resident Abigail Frances Erasmus has been named to the president's list at James Madison University for the spring 2019 semester. Students who earn president's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above. Erasmus is majoring in Nursing.
  • James Madison University is pleased to announce two Simsbury students made the dean's list for the spring 2019 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Simsbury honorees are Claire Olivia Alix, majoring in Communication Sciences & Disorders, and Matthew John Werner, majoring in Justice Studies.

  • The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) released the 2018-19 Academic All-Conference selections, and 101 Lasell College student-athletes have been honored. This year's list consists of 1,030 student-athletes from 13 full-time institutions and nine associate member institutions who have met the following criteria: maintaining a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, completed at least one full season of competition at a GNAC institution and is at least sophomore academically. The list included Simon Nigro of Simsbury, a student-athlete on the Lasell men's soccer team.

University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

  • The University of Alabama awarded some 5,716 degrees during its spring commencement May 3-5. Among the recipients were Joseph Patten Brown IV of Simsbury, Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration; Sean McKay Foster of West Simsbury, Bachelor of Science in Education; and Megan Anne Goodwin of Weatogue, Bachelor of Arts.
  • Peter Williams of Simsbury and Megan Goodwin of Weatogue were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester.

University of Delaware, Newark DE

  • Haley Carr, David Kratzer and Ellen Schenk, all of Simsbury, have been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of New Hampshire, Durham NH

  • The following students from Simsbury have been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the spring 2019 semester: Maggie Grigely, High Honors; Brendan Gallagher, Honors; Brianna Houston, High Honors; and Lila Salinardi, High Honors.

Vanderbilt University, Nashville TN

  • Isabelle Dorman, a freshman from Simsbury, was named to the Dean's List at Vanderbilt University for the spring 2019 semester. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average. Dorman is majoring in Human and Organizational Development and double minoring in Business and Italian Studies.
