University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

• Madison Jeanette LaFrance of Simsbury has received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration from the University of Alabama. UA awarded some 1,450 degrees during summer commencement Aug. 3.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Western New England University congratulates over 600 students who received their academic degrees during May commencement ceremonies. Brendan L. Kaljulaid of Simsbury graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS Business Administration in Accounting, and Madeline E. Mancarella of Simsbury graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication/Media Theory & Production Concentration.
• Nicholas Peluso of West Simsbury has been named to the Dean's List at Western New England University for the spring semester 2019. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher. Peluso is working toward a BS in Information Technology.
