SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Bryant University, Smithfield RI

• Alexa Glaude, class of 2021, from Simsbury, has been named to the President's List for the fall 2017 semester. The President's List is an academic distinction reserved for Bryant's highest achievers who earn a GPA of 4.0 or better for at least 12 semester hours of work.
• The following students from Simsbury have been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester: Brandon Bush, class of 2018; Adriana Deacon, class of 2019; Alexa Glaude, class of 2021; Ava Reisel, class of 2020; and Nicholas Stamboulis, class of 2018.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Megan Hanshaw of Weatogue, a member of the class of 2018 majoring in civil and environmental engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in Boston. The project was titled Bridge and Intersection Design at Louisiana State University. In their project summary, the students wrote, "The purpose of this project was to provide an intersection design and a structural bridge design for Louisiana State University to achieve the mobility goals of the LSU Master Plan."
