Celebrate Earth Day By Cleaning Up Simsbury
The town's rec department is hosting 'Simsbury Community Cleanup Day' on Earth Day, which is Saturday, April 22.
SIMSBURY, CT — Earth Day means celebrating the planet's wonder and reminding ourselves to take care of it.
And in Simsbury this Saturday, April 22, Earth Day also means rolling up your sleeves and doing your part to make your town clean and attractive for you and your neighbors.
Saturday is "Simsbury Community Cleanup Day" and the town, through is recreation department, is asking folks to sign up and clean the town's neighborhooods, parks and trails.

Work is expected to take place at several locations within Simsbury from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
With the weather now ripe for outdoor activities, the time is perfect for folks to ensure their community facilities are ready for visitors.

People can, even, share their best cleanup photos on social media by tagging them to #simsburycommunitycleanup, according to an announcement of the event.
The way the day works is folks sign up virtually and register for a specific location to work at one of several sites in town.
Volunteer workers are asked to stop by the Simsbury Town Hall parking lot (933 Hopmeadow St.) at 9:30 a.m. for gloves and trash bags before heading out to clean up.
After volunteers are finished, they can return to town hall and deposit their trash bags there, where the town will have a dumpster handy for folks to use.
