The event, beginning at 5 p.m., will include inflatable amusements for children, a face painter, a balloon twister, and a concert by Soul Sound Revue from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Summer then will end with a bang ... literally.

A spectacular fireworks above the Simsbury Farms Golf Course will take place at approximately 8:40 p.m. concluding, literally, the celebration and, metaphorically, the summer.

The fireworks show is expected to last approximately 15 minutes.

"Please be advised that for safety reasons, any shells that do not go off during the fireworks show as planned must be released," wrote the town. "This would occur within approximately 30 minutes after the show."

This event is free to Simsbury residents and there will be food available for purchase from the Hilltop Grille and also the Hilltop Grille Food Truck as well Frankie’s Food Truck, I know A Guy Food Truck, Grass Roots Ice Cream, and the Dippin’ Dots and Doc Popcorn Food Trucks.

Onsite parking at Simsbury Farms is limited, parking lots at the Apple Barn, Orkil Fields and Covenant Presbyterian Church will also be utilized for parking.

Participants are asked to bring their own chairs or blanket to sit and enjoy the event.
