Cleaning Woman Accused of Stealing From Simsbury Homes
She is charged with stealing items from a pair of homes in Nov. 2015 and Feb. 2016.

SIMSBURY, CT - A woman who worked as a professional cleaner was arrested last week on charges of stealing items from a pair of Simsbury homes.
Katia C. Ferreira, 36, of Hartford, was charged with second-degree larceny and third-degree larceny after turning herself in at Simsbury police headquarters on June 1, Lt. Fred Sifodaskalakis said.
Ferreira was suspected of stealing items from two separate homes that she was cleaning. Judicial records indicate the thefts took place in Nov. 2015 and Feb. 2016.

After investigation, a pair of warrants were completed for her arrest, Sifodaskalakis said.
Ferreira was held on bonds totaling $40,000. She has since been released from custody.

She is scheduled to appear in court next on June 21.
