College Achievements For Simsbury Students

SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Tunxis Community College, Farmington CT

• Over 80 Tunxis students received awards and scholarships at the 35th Annual “Student Achievement Recognition Ceremony,” held this spring at Tunxis Community College. Close to 80 scholarships and $86,765 in scholarship funds was awarded. Brock Steinfeldt of Simsbury received a United Bank Scholarship.

University of Albany, Albany NY

• Lorna Lechak from Simsbury has been named to the spring 2018 Dean's List at the University at Albany. Students named to the Dean's List earned at least a 3.5 GPA.

University of Dayton, Dayton OH

• Emily Fritz of Simsbury earned a spot on the University of Dayton's spring 2018 dean's list, which honors undergraduate students achieving a minimum 3.5 GPA for the semester.

University of Delaware, Newark DE

• Five students from Simsbury have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester: Samuel Carlson, Annika Geno, David Kratzer, Ellen Schenk and Melissa Stumper. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following students from Simsbury have been named to the Dean's List for spring 2018: Josef Nicorici, Sean Kearns, Carrie Nuveen, Denise Firestone, Claudia Lungarini, Brian Neagle, Nicholas Rylands, Masami Fukawa, Kelly Mercey, Hawraa Aldouri, Emma Moran, Elizabeth Newkirk, Gabrielle Raulinaitis, Emma Taylor, Sarah Braverman and Kristin Weiss.
