College Achievements By Students From Simsbury

SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• The Chamber Singers at Eastern Connecticut State University is amid its 2019 season of performance. This vocal ensemble focuses on chamber music from more than four centuries.
  Among the members is Kaylee West of Tariffville, who majors in Business Administration and Communication and sings Alto. Led by conductor David Belles, the Chamber Singers is comprised of 20-25 singers that perform throughout Connecticut as well as out of state at destinations such as Montreal, Maryland, Washington D.C. and more.
• Nearly 100 students are participating in Eastern Connecticut State University's highly selective University Honors Program this 2019-20 academic year. Of these students is Katherine May of Simsbury, who majors in Psychology and Political Science. This is May's first year in the program. The Honors Program accepts highly motivated and academically driven students. When accepted into the program, students are required to complete several additional classes, including a capstone course in which students complete a thesis based around their academic major.

Goodwin College, East Hartford CT

• Mark Foley has earned a spot on the Goodwin College's President's List for summer 2019.
  Mark, a student from Tariffville, is one of 230 students to make the President's List, all of whom scored a perfect 4.0 GPA.
