College Notes - Simsbury Students

SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Asnuntuck Community College, Enfield CT

• Four Simsbury residents were among the graduates who recently received degrees or certificates from Asnuntuck Community College. They are Shan Chaudhry, Chad Hebert, Ada Shetler and Jelani Thomas.

Bucknell University, Lewisburg PA

• Bucknell University presented degrees to 1,090 graduates at Commencement on May 20, 2018, including Michael McNally and Patrick Long, both of Simsbury.

Colgate University, Hamilton NY

• Lisa Heller of Simsbury is a graduate of Colgate University in the Class of 2018. Heller majored in Psychology. Heller, a graduate of Simsbury High School, received a Bachelor of Arts degree Cum Laude at Colgate's 197th Commencement, May 20.

Dean College, Franklin MA

• Dean College is pleased to announce that Max Burger of Simsbury has earned a place on the Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester.

Muhlenberg College, Allentown PA

• Muhlenberg College student Anna Ricciuti, Class of 2019, studied in Czech Republic during spring 2018. Muhlenberg encourages students of all disciplines to attend one of 100 study abroad programs offered during their undergraduate experience. With programs in Europe, Asia, Oceania, Latin America and Africa, students earn academic credit while engaging in global development.

Providence College, Providence RI

• Avery Coombes, a resident of Simsbury and a member of the class of 2020, has been named to the Dean's List at Providence College for the spring 2018 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credits.This is the fourth consecutive semester which Coombes, a business/finance major, has been named to the Providence College Dean’s List.

SUNY Geneseo, Geneseo NY

• Mary Pyatt from Tariffville has been named to SUNY Geneseo's Dean's List for the spring semester 2018. To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove PA

• Talia Basch of Simsbury was named to Susquehanna University's dean's list for the spring 2018 semester. The dean's list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester. To qualify, students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours.
