College Notes - Simsbury Students

SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Ithaca College, Ithaca NY

• Ithaca College congratulates all May 2018 graduates, including three from Simsbury. Christopher Hauser graduated Magna cum Laude with a BM in Performance/Music Education; Cassidy Bronsord graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Accounting; and Charlotte Roos of West Simsbury, graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Writing for Film, Television and Emerging Media.

Marist College, Poughkeepsie NY

• Four students from Simsbury have been named to the Marist College Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester. Carly Heintz is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in Biomedical Sciences. Christopher Rechen is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in Communication. Caisi Hecht is a member of the Class of 2021 and is majoring in Psychology. Kelly Englisby is a member of the Class of 2021 and is majoring in Psychology/Special Education.

Saint Francis University, Loretto PA

• Kristin Aponte of Simsbury was among the forty-seven 2018 Master of Physician Assistant Science (MPAS) graduates, who passed the Physician Assistant National Certification Examination (PANCE) on the first try. This examination is offered through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

• Timothy J. Cody of Weatogue was among more than 1,650 students named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2018 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Cody is a freshman biology major in the University's College of Arts and Sciences.
