Remember the Civil Rights Movement with this gripping documentary followed by a community discussion led by Deacon Art Miller.

Commemorate Martin Luther King Day with a community discussion following the documentary, 'Come Walk in My Shoes' at the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow St. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm. In the film, the Honorable John R. Lewis leads Congressional colleagues on an emotional pilgrimage of sacred sites of the Civil Rights Movement in Alabama. This gripping documentary reminds us of the sacrifices that were made to propel the Civil Rights Movement forward.
Following the film, Deacon Art Miller, author, radio host, revivalist, and retired businessman will lead an informal community discussion. His perspective is that of an African American who grew up on the South Side of Chicago in the 1940s and 1950s. Along with his other activities, Deacon Art preaches at Mass and leads a biweekly Bible study at St. Mary's Church in Simsbury.
