Businesses That Donate To Simsbury Programs Can Get Break On Taxes
Local officials announced three new beneficiaries to Neighborhood Assistance Act Program this week.

SIMSBURY, CT — Donations to three local causes could garner tax credits on town taxes, according to local officials this week.
The Town of Simsbury said Thursday it has received approval for three community programs through the Neighborhood Assistance Act Program.
The program allows businesses to receive a tax credit for cash investments in qualifying programs conducted by tax-exempt or municipal agencies.

Businesses in Connecticut and subject to certain taxes can now donate to three Simsbury-based programs and get tax credits. They are:
• Simsbury Food Pantry: Receive a 60 percent tax credit on donations between $250 and $30,000 to support the purchase of gift cards for low income families to purchase fresh food.

• Open Space Acquisition Fund:Receive a 60 percent tax credit on donations between $250 and $150,000 to help establish an open space acquisition fund to support the preservation of land in Simsbury as protected open space.
• Simsbury Grange Energy Efficiency and Conservation: Receive a 100 percent tax credit on donations between $250 and $24,000 to support energy efficiency projects at the Grange.
To contribute to one or more of these programs, complete the one-page online form (NAA-02).
This takes less than one minute to complete, according to town officials, and will be available for the 2022 program year through Oct. 1.
