Update: Simsbury Road Still Closed, To Reopen Later Today
Road was closed Monday afternoon due to downed wires.

SIMSBURY, CT — A local road is closed after power and utility wires came crashing down Monday afternoon, according to police, and the road is expected to be closed for a while a day later.
The Simsbury Police Department said via Twitter that Gread Pond Road is closed between Old Farms Road and Great Pond State Park for "an extended period of time."
The department posted the announcement shortly before 3 p.m. Monday via Twitter.

In addition, there is no vehicle access to Linda Lane nearby, police said, adding they will be updating the situation as the day goes on.
As of 6:22 a.m. Tuesday, police reported the road was still closed.

"It is anticipated that it will be reopened within the next few hours," wrote the SPD via Twitter.
