SIMSBURY, CT — The town's iconic Eno Memorial Hall is getting a much-needed improvement starting next week, but there might be some short-term headaches to deal with first.

On Tuesday, Feb. 20, work to replace the aging elevator at Eno is expected to begin and the job will take several weeks to complete, with an April finishing date expected.

As a result, town officials said there will be no elevator access in the building.

To compensate for that, local leaders said ramps will be installed at the front entrance to allow for those with mobility issues access to all areas of the hall.

Meanwhile, senior center programs that usually take place at Eno's upper floor have been moved.

"There will be some noise associated with the project," wrote the town in an announcement. "We apologize in advance for the disruption."

In addition to senior citizen programs, Eno — part of the Simsbury Town Hall complex — is home to various events in town and is the home of the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
