The Ethel Walker School Announces 2019 Graduates
Six local students received their diplomas from The Ethel Walker School.

The Ethel Walker School, an independent college preparatory boarding and day school for girls in Simsbury, CT, announces that the following students from Simsbury graduated as members of its Class of 2019:
Eleanor (Ellie) Alfeld was honored as a scholar artist in recognition of her academic achievement and contributions to dance at the varsity level. Alfeld will attend the University of Vermont in the fall.
Mariela D'Alessandro was honored as a scholar athlete in recognition of her academic achievement and contributions to the varsity cross country team, swim team and the musical. She served as a captain of the varsity cross country team. During the school’s annual Prize Night, D'Alessandro also earned the Spanish Prize, the Madelene Sala Choir Girl Prize, the Performing Arts Prize and the Alison Stone Class of 1952 Memorial Prize for her special contributions through character, personality or gifts. D'Alessandro will attend Southern Illinois University in the fall.

Emma Paterson earned the Theatre Prize during the school’s annual Prize Night and will attend Sarah Lawrence College in the fall.
Grace Majka served as a captain of the varsity field hockey team and will attend Springfield College in the fall.

Caroline Smith was inducted into the Cum Laude Society in recognition of her academic excellence. Smith served as a captain of the varsity squash team and was honored as a scholar athlete in recognition of her academic achievement and contributions to the varsity soccer, squash and lacrosse teams. During the school’s annual Prize Night, she earned the Science Prize and the Meritorious Effort Cup in honor of effort, outstanding spirit, enthusiasm and determination. Smith will attend Haverford College in the fall.
