Ethel Walker Student Recognized by the Yale Club
Senior Keeley Duran Named 2018 Redden Award Recipient

Keeley Duran, a senior at The Ethel Walker School, has been awarded The Redden Award for 2018 by the Yale Club, honoring the most outstanding senior girl in combined fields of scholarship, athletics, and leadership. Duran was selected from among nominees throughout the Hartford and Eastern Connecticut region. The Yale Club established this award to memorialize Thomas "Tuck" Redden as an inspiration to young men and women and has presented the Thomas Redden Award annually since 1968. Duran was co-captain of Walker's field hockey team and is a member of the school's varsity basketball and lacrosse teams. She also participates in the school's arts program as a member of the choir, African drum team and the Grapes, a capella group.
Mr. Redden was a star athlete and scholar from Kingswood-Oxford School who attended Yale, where he played basketball and baseball on championship teams and captained both. His distinguished career carried on after college, when he was an active and valued member of his church and the Hartford community until his untimely death in 1967.
