Join us for the Friends’ annual author luncheon! This popular event features best-selling author Ann Hood and a delicious lunch, in the gorgeous spring setting of the Hopmeadow Country Club.
In 2002, author Ann Hood’s own five year old daughter Grace died suddenly from strep. Three years later, Ann traveled with her husband and son to China to adopt a baby girl. As a writer and a “new” mom, Ann used her experiences to create her latest novel, The Red Thread. It is an insightful look into the adoption process, and the lives of the brave Chinese women who are forced to abandon their children in the hope of giving them a better life.
Ann has also written her memoir, Comfort: a Journey through Grief, a New York Times Editor's Choice. Among her other novels is her best-seller, The Knitting Circle. Ann lives in Providence, RI.
