On June 23, North American Dance Academy, owned by Sara Schilling and Laura Steil, will host the grand opening celebration of the newest Ballroom and Latin dance studio in Enfield, Connecticut!

North American Dance Academy is located at 127 Pearl Street in a beautifully restored Masonic temple that features a spacious dance floor under a vaulted ceiling, all overlooked by a balcony inscribed with the Masonic triad of “wisdom,” “strength,” and “beauty.” The building's rich history is almost palpable, and the overall feeling is enhanced by the warmth of the professional, world-renowned instructors and friendly, welcoming staff. The studio offers private instruction seven days of the week, and is also a venue for weekend social dances on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Sara Schilling is from Tolland, CT and has been teaching locally for over 13 yrs. She coaches the UConn Ballroom Team, Trinity College Ballroom Team and the East Hartford High School Ballroom Club. Sara and her professional partner, Evgueni Chaoulski, are the only representatives in the New England area to compete in 4 consecutive World Championships. They are Canadian 10-Dance Champions, competing in both latin and ballroom styles of dance. New Jersey resident Laura Steil is a former world amateur semi-finalist and national finalist. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the New England area and hosts the weekend social dances. She brings a fresh perspective to the studio and can be found socializing and dancing with people of all ages and levels at our dances. Together, Sara, Evgueni, and Laura make a well rounded, full of fun and great dancing team.

North American Dance Academy, formerly known as Pearl Ballroom, offers something for everyone. They teach private lessons 7 days a week, including wedding and event preparation, semi-private lessons for friends and family, college and youth private lessons, group classes ranging in levels from the FUNdamentals for the absolute beginner through the most advanced levels, and special workshops each month. They tailor these lessons to suit the client’s individual needs whether it is to dance on a cruise or at a ballroom competition.

Whether you are already an accomplished dancer, or someone who is stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, North American Dance Academy is the place to develop your skills. The unique character of the ballroom is as perfectly suited to learning from top-notch instructors, as it is to dancing the night away with friends to a vibrant mix of music in a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

Their Grand Opening Gala takes place Saturday June 23 from 7 pm-11 pm. It will include desserts, champagne punch, professional shows, raffles, line dances and of course plenty of social dancing!! Admission is free to this event but space is limited. To ensure your admittance please reserve your ticket with $5, which will be refunded when you arrive at the party.
